Food when out

Really random, but what do you do for meals when you are out and about with your babies? Now the weather is getting better I’m trying to do more day trips with my little one, usually I take a packed lunch but if we were at home he would have quite a substantial meal for his lunch but I find all the cafés or food places when we go out only offer things like chicken nuggets, fishfingers, chips, and things like that for kids meals which I don’t really want him eating Two or three times a week! Just wondering what others do x

Just has a bit of what we’re having. Kids meals still cost too much for how much she eats so no point paying for a whole meal when she can just have a good amount of ours x

I tend to take a couple of pouches and snacks with me if the meals are all the same sort of thing.

I always take something with us unless I know where we are eating and can check the menu

Usually packed lunches, but I’ve also got insulated pots which means I can take warm food too- pasta, rice, soups, daal etc. for something a bit more substantial. Or they’ll just have some of whatever I’m getting.

Sometimes I take a packed lunch, sometimes I’ll order him a kids meal if it’s like pasta or a jacket potato or sometimes I’ll share mine!

Packed lunch and a bit of mine if I eat.. If I really cba before we go then I’ll take snacks and buy a kids meal for them.

We bought a thermos food thing and take pasta or leftovers in this. Seems to work well.

I split an entree with my kiddo, she’s 2. Ill order an extra side of veg or a soup or something as well … its cheaper than ordering two meals and is healthier than the typical “kids” menu.

Make sandwiches or cut up fruit/vegetables. Also give a little bit of my own food try to avoid salty/processed food.
