Typical day of food

Can people share a typical day of eating for their LO. I am so worried about my daughter's diet as she refuses most things except plain pasta and toast. I try to make as many things as possible with hidden veg but it's really hit and miss if she will eat it. I just feel like I'm constantly worrying and wondering how much veg other babies her age are getting?

For breakfast she has - bit of porridge/or toast with kiwi or strawberries&bit of orange! Lunch: varies but typically - mushroom&spinach omelette with mushroom&cucumber on side - veggie fritters, potato&cucumber - tuna pasta etc Snack: - veggie straws/oat bar Dinner: really varies on what we are having its sometimes modified etc and then has a fruit pouch for dessert. Tonight we are having a stir fry so she is going to have a modified version of stir fry with more veg on side for her. Last night, she had tomato mushroom pasta with mushroom&broccoli on the side

But my daughter has always been a good eater and I know I am lucky thats the case Hopefully someone who has been in your position can comment to offer you advice on what to do to help x

Breakfast is either pancakes & fruit or porridge and fruit Lunch varies from, cheese omelette, courgette fritters, fruit and yogurt, veggie muffins Dinner we always find the hardest but firm favs are bolognese, sausage and mash, chicken risotto, picky plate

Breakfast - porridge, toast or yoghurt with a fruit option and maybe some eggs too if toast. Lunch - usually a variety of picky bits I.e, sandwiches with cucumber/peppers, beans, sausage and cauliflower hashbrowns pasta with veg/sauce quiche and salad bits / cheese cubes whatever we’re having if different Dinner - usually leftovers from our meal the night before as we eat at different times or something similar to lunch. Favourites are the hearty meals like spaghetti Bol, lasagne, stew, pasta bake, coconut chicken curry, meat/mash/veg. His versions are typically baby friendly (no salt added) and packed with veggies

We limit processed foods typically other than beans/ some sandwich meat but he does have the toddler snacks like veggie straws, melty sticks, baby biscuits, rice cakes, rusks etc. in between meals if he wants them - or the odd ‘adult’ biscuit. His current favourite snacks are raisins or cheerios though so we’ll use those if in the house as they feel a bit better! The others are better on the move. I would say though while we always offer fruit and veg he doesn’t really eat much of the salady bits offered, usually he has a bite to try which I’m happy with. He will eat fruit mashed into yoghurt / mashed on its own though or veg that is within a dish / sauce without it having to be too disguised. But I take the line of at least if it’s offered he’s seeing it as normal to have a variety of food even if it doesn’t get eaten

My little one is quite fussy. Typically he eats toast, crumpet or cornflakes for breakfast Banana/ yoghurt snack Scrambled egg and baked beans, sandwich and cucumber sticks (though he never eats the cucumber sticks, I continue to offer), fish fingers and peas Veggie puffs, oat bar etc. for snack Hidden veg pasta, curry, veggie chilli, sausage mash and beans etc. and a fruit pouch for desert. He won’t eat fruit but eats the pouches He is at nursery 4 days a week and eats well there. He won’t touch much fruit/ salad bits but will eat veg. I see some of what people offer and it makes me feel bad as I really don’t have the time to make extravagant meals which won’t be eaten. Each meal is quite hit and miss though

Not that much veg, tbh calcium and fibre are more important than veg at this age. Toast & pasta are good for fuel and there are way worse foods to be dependent on! I know it’s hard not to but try not to worry she’ll get there. As long as she’s still having some milk & maybe a multivitamin. We had 2 weeks recently of our LO eating barely anything and I was so worried but all of a sudden she’s eating normally again. Breakfast - Porridge or weetabix & fruit like banana, blueberries or grapes Mid morning first lunch (as she sleeps over lunch) - boiled or fried egg, omelette, bagel & cream cheese, croissant or crumpet Milk After nap second lunch/snack - as above or if on the go, pea or carrot puffs, baby flapjack & fruit Dinner - generally eats what we eat but her favourites are anything with mince - cottage pie, spaghetti bolognese, chilli con carne, broccoli & cream cheese pasta, deconstructed fajita, pulled pork, chicken korma, salmon, sweet potato, cauliflower cheese Milk
