Cows milk🐮

i want to introduce cows milk but not too sure on what to do, some people say they give their child 2 bottles of cows milk during the day and 1 formula, some say they completely kicked out formula.. so i’m a bit stuck? And when i do do the bottle of cows milk how many ounces am i doing? same as i would do formula or less? if anyone could give advice would be much appreciatedšŸŽ€

There’s no right or wrong way to do. We’re doing a slow transition as still have formula left. We got back from holiday yesterday, so only started today (birthday was last week). I done 7oz formula | 2oz cows milk. I’ll do that for a few days then drop to 6oz formula | 3oz cows milk and keep dropping the formula every few days until we run out

Do whatever works best for you. I’m switching one bottle at a time, I always offer the same amount as I would formula. I switched morning bottle first, and then his late afternoon bottle, his nighttime bottle will be the last bottle I switch to cows milk, I’ll switch that when I run out of formula.

Whatever works best for you! Some people like changing cold turkey and others like gradual. I found some research to do one week of 3 parts formula 1 part whole milk, next week 2 parts formula 2 parts whole milk and so on so within one month (as long as her tummy is doing well with it) she will be fully on cows milk in a month

Hope this doesn’t sound stupid but my boy is a month younger than most on here… Are we just giving shop bought blue top milk? X

@Hollie of course not, we’re all learning šŸ«¶šŸ½ we’ve got just shop bought blue top milk at home or if she’s at my mums will be from milkman

I’ve swapped one bottle at a time and we’re now on 2 whole milk and 1 formula a day. The HV advised that teeth need to be brushed after the final whole milk bottle at night as the sugars in the milk sit on the teeth as baby is sleeping and I have nooo idea how I’m gonna manage to brush her teeth after her bottle as she’s usually conked out! So while I figure that out, the last bottle will remain as formula until we run out I guess and we have 2 tins left right now. My girl had CMPA as a baby so the transition was a little scary but she’d done so well with dairy in her food that I just went head first into whole milk and she’s been absolutely fine.

@Hollie personally yes that’s what I’m doing. We thought about getting cravendale but it never happened so we just get standard Aldi Sainsburys or Tesco blue top milk from wherever we’re shopping when we need it.
