Worried I’m over feeding

My baby is formula fed and he is currently 7.5 weeks & weighs just over 12lb. Today he has around 35oz of formula, and he’s been hungry every 2-2.5 hours (between 5 and 6oz throughout the day) I know it’s ’feed on demand’ but I don’t want him to be eating too much? Is anyone else’s baby the same?

Sounds like he’s just a hungry baby. He could be going through a wee growth spurt too. If baby doesn’t want then they’ll not take. Some days my boy was finishing 5/6oz every bottle and others he’d take much less x

I don't have much advice on amounts to feed etc. but just wanted to reassure you that my LO is EBF and he's 12lbs at 7 weeks, nothing wrong with that and maybe your LO is just hungry and needs more milk 🤗

I have been told that you cannot over feed a baby if they don't want it they will either refuse it or sick it up. I have a hungry boy too, he is 8 weeks and is currently on 6oz but is now showing signs he might want more. Xx

You can overfeed a baby on formula, you can’t on breast milk. Baby will take what they need to take I wouldn’t say you’re Over feeding him though if he’s wanting a bottle. What’s your HV saying is he following his curve? Might just be a hungry boy but you can overfeed them on formula so maybe offer dummy first if you think he is eating a bit much and see if he settles / see if it’s something else rather than hunger first before going for the bottle. If not just feed him he’s a growing boy but defos speak to health visitor about it anyway see what they say
