What is the muse scam??

She told me that one of my photos was super pretty and that she wanted to use it as inspiration for a painting. Didn’t bat an eye because almost all of her photos are her with her art. The next day she told me that it was for something for her university? And that I would get paid for it, and I told her that she didn’t need to pay me. She insisted, and told me that her client would be the one paying me, and that it would be wrong for her to use my photo without paying me. After that I was a little sketched out, so I looked online, and then I found something called the muse scam. Which almost perfectly aligned with the things this lady was telling me. I asked her about it, and she never responded again lol. Pretty unfortunate because she seemed so nice, but it was definitely just someone using her pictures just to scam people. ☹️ I really thought I found a friend.

Definitely look it up if you’re interested in more information! I’m just glad that I caught it before anything escalated further. Just a little bit scary because I sent her photos of my son, and talked to her about him. And she told me about her “pregnancy”. She really took time to know me a little bit before she started the scam, so i really thought it was legit until she kept insisting on paying me and that made me look into it online.
