Running as beginner

Hi all I need some motivation and tips as I’m planning to do running everyday (Pp into 8 months) How do I start initially and safety tips please. I don’t have any Fitbit watch or anything to track. Is it mandatory and also how do I carry phone if I wear some leggings for running (sorry about silly questions) Thank u in advance xx

When I was first starting out, I would alternate between jogging until I felt like I couldn’t then I would walk until my breathing slowed back down. When I first started I couldn’t even run for more than a minute thirty. However, it takes a while but I could run about 45 minutes before I got to my third trimester. Just start out slow and listen to your body. You can also buy leggings that have pockets in them! I found that those pockets tend to keep hold of your phone better. You don’t need a Fitbit or anything you can keep track of how much you do using an app like map my run or map my walk. That’s how I got started.

NHS couch to 5k app will talk you through starting to run, a bit like listening to a podcast x

I second couch 2 5k. I used to wear shorts with hidden pockets for my phone.
