How would you feel?

Me and my partner had a row last night, we haven't spoken all day - I have tried by asking if he needed anything washed and he said he'd sort it himself. He's stayed upstairs in bed all day. I'm starting a new job tonight after being made redundant from my job 6 months ago. I'm nervous, anxious, worried etc. He hasn't even wished me good luck or anything. I'm hurt, because even though we've rowed, there should still be some compassion there? I'm working all weekend now until Monday, so he'll not see me, I feel like he's not bothered at all.

Show your support

I'm really sorry you're feeling this way. It’s totally valid to be hurt starting a new job is a big deal, and you deserve support, even after a row. You showed maturity by trying to reach out, and it’s okay to expect some compassion. Focus on your big step tonight you’ve come so far. He’ll come around!

Asking if he wants washing doing though isn't reaching out sadly. I'd actually go and tell him that you want to talk about it, as he at least then KNOWS that you want to talk about it.
