I wouldn't worry, ours is the same. Tummy time is mostly on our chest in the evening rather than the floor n I'd say she's 90% with her neck strength but hasn't ever tried pushing with her arms yet, I'm ftm but it's probably a bit soon still. Either way any amount of time is good for them, you got this! X
Same! My girl did tummy time all the time (she loved it) but this baby has been so hit & miss! Have a 21 month old toddler so not always safe for him to be on the ground and he’s had reflux so by the time I’ve held him upright, he is tired! He’s either in the bassinet, carrier or in a bouncer or newborn high chair thing. But I try to feed laid back when I can so he gets tummy time then, sometimes will also just have him upwards on my chest after a feed which counts as tummy time too and panther hold occasionally. It’s especially hard with Easter break and juggling two and short wake windows/reflux etc. but hoping the next few weeks there will start to be more opportunities to use his playmat more. I don’t think they are meant to be pushing up yet. It’s so varied! My girl was early for everything and rolling from 9 weeks so definitely feel guilty that I haven’t given him much of a chance but also heard boys tend to be slower anyways & every baby different so trying not to compare them.
Tummy time can count if on chest. My boy was held over my knees on my chest mostly all the time due to my older boy running round everything he’s only 1 so can’t understand the baby is now rolling around now and is on floor much more now. Also do it on your bed Dont feel guilty about it I never did it atall unless on my chest knees or bed
We have the same age gap bar a week with our youngest, my boy isn’t pushing up on arms yet either, he’s been napping a lot more this week too so not had much wake windows to do this either, he usually has tummy time on my chest especially during the school holidays it’s hard but don’t beat yourself up x
@Charlotte I needed to hear this today thank you 😊
I do it mostly on my chest (have a 19 month old too so it's not super safe to leave my 8 week old on the floor for too long!)
