How are we keeping on top of housework??

Just how?? I feel like every time I turn my back on my boy for even a second he manages to hurt himself! I also struggle to fit it in during the day with all the chaos and don’t want it to take away from quality playtime with him. Because of this from about 7:30-9pm every night myself and my husband are playing catch up tidying and cleaning as much as we can but it’s still always at a baseline tidiness/cleanliness level! Then we go to bed early knackered so don’t get any down time ourselves. I’m aware it’ll probs never be ‘perfect’ again but I’m just so tired of clutter everywhere and never feeling on top of cleaning and chores 😮‍💨😩 help!!

We aren't 😂 my house looks like i have 10 kids

Guys get yourselves a play pen (baby prison) full of toys cartoon on put them in there while you do cleaning washing etc x

I use a travel cot as a play pen and it’s a god send!

Struggling 🤣 this is my third time doing this but it’s been 6 years since I had a baby so I forgot all about this stage! He’s walking so he’s just into EVERYTHING, by the time I’ve done one job I turn around and he’s emptying a cupboard or something 🤣

We just don’t - we haven’t since my first was born (she is now 4). It used to stress me out, but I have now made peace that this is how it is probably until they are both at school. I’m trying to let go and just remind myself they won’t always be this demanding, and I don’t want to miss out or have any regrets. Oh and for context, my May babies room is just an insane dumping ground for clutter so she will probably be in my room until she moves out 🤣🤣

Just trying my best🤣 I'm literally constantly tidying/cleaning and then once a week my partner takes the baby swimming so I can deep clean which has been a life saver x

We don’t 😂 you should have seen the look on my sister-in-laws face when she visited the last time 😂😂

I find myself washing up one handed (warm water) and holding my youngest almost 1 in my arms cause she screams if I put her in the travel cot. Doesn’t like her walker anymore and just likes to be free so easier to carry her or sit her in her high chair with finger food but still where I can see her. I live in a small 2 bed with 4 kids ranging from almost 1 to 18 and other 3 are all boys and very messy so I feel like I just constantly cook and clean an washing all the time! 😭😭 partner works 12-11pm 3/4 days a week so when his off work I can have a good clean of the house while he entertains the kids. It is hard but it won’t last forever that’s what I tell myself lol xx

For hoovering, I have to have my baby on my back in my ergobaby, he’s obsessed with the hoover and I’m terrified of running over his fingers!

@Stef I wish I had the room For this 😢😢

My daughter tends to follow me around so i just get on with quick chores when she's there. I talk to her while im doing things and she tends to stay nearby and occupy herself. Our house is pretty much baby-proofed and we have cupboard/drawer locks and baby gates to stop her going upstairs. When she first started pulling herself up to stand, foam mats were great for avoiding head bumps. Once she'd found her feet, we removed them as when she started walking last month, she was tripping over them. When I want to do a deep clean, my husband/parents will take her out xx

Don't get me wrong, I still get overwhelmed sometimes as my daughter is like a whirlwind so there's normally toys everywhere until she goes to bed x

As above we’re not 🤦🏻‍♀️ I try and do stuff during her naps though x

@Johanna Same with mine and my other family people from my husband. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I have come into an agreement with myself that my house won’t look 100% astonishing everytime and it’s alright

Defo playpen although still do have days where he full on refuses to go in playpen and wants to stick to mummy we call these koala days and just say sod it to housework ...if something really does need doing then I just take his seat wherever the job is and give him a snack ...I say this but my house is far from how I want it and probobably won't be for another few years yet ...we've just got to try and let it go until then 🙈 xx

I clean when he naps so I run round at 100mph for an hour a day 😂 And I also moaned and moaned at my partner to let me get a cleaner because I was struggling so much to keep on top of it. We now have a cleaner once every 2 weeks to clean upstairs and bathrooms xx

@Stef we call it play penitentiary 😅 he lasts about 5 mins before he’s screaming for me, 10 if the cat goes over to entertain him

Trying my best, I can do dishes and washing daily but all other cleaning I'm always very behind with. I do a bit at nightime but otherwise it just gets left 🤷‍♀️
