Weaning

Starting to wean my boy but I just can't grasp how often to offer foods. The NHS website says to start with one meal time a day to offer foods, but I see on tiktok people giving 6 months olds 3 meals a day?

I started with breakfast with my daughter then went up to 2 meals around 2 weeks later and then to 3 meals a few weeks later. Will do the same with my son, as I started weaning him at 5 months. I would also follow NHS advice over tiktok

IMO, TikTok is a nightmare for giving false representation of weaning! We’re doing first tastes once a day at the moment and will be adding in some baby porridge in the mornings soon. You know your baby best and you’ll know when to up the food frequency when they’re ready 💖

Go with the NHS guidance rather than tiktok. At this age they don't eat a great deal anyway, 3 meals a day is closer to 1 years old not now, breastmilk or formula is main source of nutrition until age 1. As they say food before 1 is for fun.
