My LO is the same… he is my second child and is not taking to weaning as quickly as my first and is not massively bothered and doesn’t like to hold finger foods etc. They can develop and change a lot within a month or two so don’t panic too much and like the other lady mentioned food is fun before 1.👏🏼xxx
What do you give your LO’s? I didn’t know whether I should give him other stuff rather than just different veggies
Have you tried giving a mini version of what you're eating? That's what we've done and she's taken to it really well, but I think it's because she can see us eating the same thing. She also doesn't let me put a spoon near her mouth
@Sophy I think that’s part of the problem. We usually eat when his napping so I’m starting to make I’m eating with him for breakfast and lunch.
My LB is 6 months and is also not that interested in solids. I think he’s just not quite ready yet so i’m slowing down and will try again in a week or two 😊
i think it just takes a little bit of time for them to understand what’s happening and to know what to do with the food! it’ll come! don’t bother watching videos on insta/tiktok which is like “day 1 weening” and the baby has eaten a full plate of something. they’ve defo been filmed like 10x times until they get a good video 🤣 like most “influencers” 🙄
My little one wants what I have but unless it’s rusks biscuits he doesn’t want to know tried him on banana different puréed things not interested now
I do BLW so less stress and they take it in their own time. Food at this age is for exploring tastes and textures not actually eating a lot and taking calories from it
Only the past week I’ve seen her have a proper munch. She’s almost 7 months though. The first few weeks she’d taste and spit things out, apart from yoghurt. Those melty sticks seem to really have encouraged her to do self feeding but I don’t think she’s ready for proper solids.. she did shove a chunk of salmon in her mouth today though 😂
I did manage to get my little boy to have some carrot today but I do think it was mainly because he wanted to chew the spoon rather than him actually enjoying the carrot.
My LG turns her nose up at the veggie pouches and pulls faces so I give her the fruit pouches and she loves them and then Ella’s kitchen puffs in strawberry and banana I think it is x
@Ella my little boy is exactly the same anything veggie clamps his mouth shut but give him some fruit and loves it! X
I’m finding a similar issue! I’ve decided it’s just him telling me he’s not ready and we’ll try again in a month. ‘Food before 1 is just for fun’ is the saying I’ve heard- milk is still their main source of nutrition!
