Not saying mama : (

My little one is starting to get more vocal - has said their first words in context: look, hello, all done and dada. As well as invented sounds for things like milk. But is just not saying mama. I’m trying not to let it get to me but is making me a bit sad. Anyone else finding the same? He seems to understand mama, just won’t say it.

My little girl is extremely vocal, she says dada, cat, duck, quack, tickle, no, hiya, book, what is it and then lots of babbling sounds put together… but will this girl say mama, absolutely not!! She absolutely knows that I’m ‘mama’ and ‘mummy’, she will find me if asked or give me kisses, but she has zero interest in saying it no matter how hard I try 🤷🏻‍♀️

He will get there. My daughter’s first word was ‘dada’ and she didn’t say ‘mama’ for ages. My son just refers to both me and his dad as ‘mama’. He only just made ‘dada’ sounds yesterday so naming his dad might come soon. He will get there. X

My little one is very vocal and saying dada, duga duga (no idea what she means 🤣). She does say mama but honestly it’s about once in a blue moon. Mama is so much more difficult for them to say. Please try not to get disheartened. It will come xx

My lo mainly says dada and very occasionally mama but doesn't say anything else other than babbling and nothing in context

Thanks all for sharing - I’ll be patient ☺️
