My baby won’t eat any food and he’s 8 months old. It’s pretty sad. He won’t eat anything other than milk
Focusing on foods high in fat, nutrient dense, and probiotics for 🧠 and gut health! Also doing a mix of blw and purees/soft foods. So far we’ve done egg yolk, goat milk yogurt, sauerkraut, bone marrow, chicken, broths, grass fed butter, and avocado. She’s loving it all! Totally underestimated how messy baby eating is though 😆
Feeding my baby anything and everything I eat that’s not processed. he 100% loves food and all lol
Do you all just give your baby the food and let them have at it or do you feed them?
When my baby first started BLW it was a lot of me feeding him. After about a week he understood what food was and started feeding himself. It’s been about a month or so now and he’s very good at eating. It takes a lot of patience and allowing them to get messy
@Tiffany both. Some foods I let her feed herself other times I feed her however she’s very independent and hates it
We dont do anything before 6 months. My baby is now 10 months and just table food. We dont do puree as thats learning to swallow before chewing and a major chokin hazard. So I skip that.
@Chandra perfectly normal around a year is when it matters especially if they have a tongue thrust and push food out still
@Sherry I noticed something with my baby—she started out eating really soft solids and would chew a lot. But once I introduced puréed foods, she stopped chewing and just started swallowing everything. So now I give her a mix of solids and purées, but it honestly feels like the purées set her back a little when it comes to chewing.
@Sherry that is very interesting, I hadn’t considered that, but makes sense. Good to know.
@Tiffany I don’t feed. When first starting I just put a small amount at a time in the tray and allow my baby to grab. Helps them feel textures and learn motor skills. I have also placed and prefilled spoon for them to grab themselves. My daughter is 3 and I never fed her. I felt that she had control and able to know when she was done. She is a fantastic eater and not picky. IMO when we spoon feed babies, they are forced to fed and don’t realize and listen to their bodies when they are full. My son is learning to grab. About 1 month into BLW and he has shown major progression and doing great 😊
@Tiffany depends on if I have time to clean up
We did puree at 4m & BLW @ 6m, sometimes if I’m lazy I’ll cook some pasta and mix in the puree as a sauce! But been trying to give him everything we eat but in the right portions/cuts. He loves watermelon and cucumber slices! Oh, and “Vegemite toes” (toast) 🤣
