We keep busy. Go for walks or play in the yard. Play music lots of hugs and kisses but mostly I jut hold space for him to have time for his big feelings. I sit on the floor or in a chair next to him and just sit there. I explain to him once he’s calm about his big feelings
I’m starting to take him out more now but every time we go out in public, that’s when he looses it. But he doesn’t want to be in the house.
Wait for the storm to pass. It helps to have someone with you so you can walk away briefly if you're triggered. Some people will say to distract them. For my daughter, that doesn't always work. It helps to get out of the house too....
