Would you feel offended if you organize a big party for kids and no one says bye?

We recently hosted a big Easter party for our family and friends and at the end 99% of the people didn’t even come and say bye. There was no space left on the table to sit with them as we do have the agreement that they bring their own chairs as always as they weight 350lb so the normal chairs aren’t comfy for them…this time they didn’t. Ok I had to chase my 2yo all day anyway while she was playing with all the kids in the yard. My friends all took care of their kids and played with us. Our family members (including moms) just sat on the table and “watched” their kids destroy our property without telling them anything. No one even spoke with my husband who was stuck at the bbq all day 10ft away from them making sure everyone is fed. At one point I turned around as my kid asked for a drink as it was 85F and everyone was gone…not even bye. It’s hard for me to communicate with them when there’s no spot left for me on the table or when I have to chase my kid and I have 0 help but I’m sorry but they could’ve gotten up and talked with us. So pretty much they came for free food, free drinks, free childcare and left without even saying bye. I can’t help it but to feel offended.

welcome to the world of hosting a party 🙃 sorry this happened but it’s very common. you throw the party and do all the work, everyone is happy and entertained besides you and then ur left to clean up as well

@Annie I don’t mind hosting or cleaning up…but god can’t say even bye? :D We host parties all the time but it has never been like this. I also always make sure when we’re at a party and we’re leaving to find both hosts, thank them and say bye.

ya that’s because we’re hosts and we know the correct etiquette like saying thank you and bye before u leave but irish goodbyes are super common when u host parties. so weird that they never do that though and then this time they did 🤷‍♀️

Poor manners, yes. People should always say good bye and thank the host. Offering a hand is always appreciated.

Not the same but I went to my dads at the Easter weekend I anouxed I was going but my potty training daughter said she neeeded a wee so we quickly piped to the loo in my dads house & by time we got back outside my Nan grandad brother partner & there daughter had all left without saying goodbye was slightly fustrating lol 😂 I was like oh okay bye everyone
