Tip: “Food before one is just for fun” You’re doing good of trying to give food when he calm and not super full. -give breastmilk/formula at least 30 min to an hour before. -eat with him and show signs of chewing -offer a little at a time -doing BLW place food (prepared correctly - solid starts is a good app) on the tray. This allows your son to explore texture and learn motor skills -BLW is messy but is a fun journey to watch these little times get the hang of it 😊 It will seem like they have no interest. Keep offering but don’t push. Hehe my sons first solid was mashed carrots and he basically slammed the tray yelling and throwing a fit. Basically acted like “what is this” 😂 offered again the next day and slowly got better. He has tried about 20 different foods and doing much better grabbing. 😊
You can’t add salt or sugar, but does the food taste good? I added unsalted butter to a bunch of things. Being kind and not upset also helps.
so far my seven month old only likes ice cream, whipped cream, and frosting. I'll sugar-free though that I make it myself. She did not like unsweetened applesauce, but she did like sweet potatoes.pureed with breast milk
She is interested in grabbing with NICE food, but she won't actually put food in her mouth, she also doesn't wanna open her mouth if I try to spoon feed her so I think she's just not ready. I do still try to give her something once a day so that she can get a seal for her mouth and maybe one of these days she will care.
I would try offering high fat foods (ideally animal based) like bone marrow, grass fed butter, yogurt, and fatty fish. My understanding is it’s best to start with foods high in fat in proportions similar to breastmilk. Our brains run on these good fats and little baby brains that are developing so fast really need them. I’ve read a lot of stories of babies being drawn to these types of foods and my girl (while she doesn’t eat a ton) absolutely loves at least getting a few bites in of any of these and has never turned them away!
My daughter loves everything I feed her however she’s been in a stage of not wanting to eat much at all. She’s teething bad (5 as of now) so maybe it’s just a phase like my daughter is going through
They always hate it at first but then acquire the taste for it. My baby hated avocado an made a face every time I gave him some. Now he loves it. It took him 3 days to actually start enjoying it. My pediatrician recommended starting with veggies before fruits, that way they will get used to and enjoy the taste of veggies first as fruits are sweet and basically will like them by default.
