Are you in the uk or overseas? In the uk a midwife might not even visit your home, they “should” and I use that term loosely visit the day after your discharged from hospital, 5 days later and periodically through the child’s first couple of years. I’ve personally only had a midwife at my house twice, the day after we got home and 5 days after.

@Paige in the UK sorry should have specified. Mine told me she is going to visit. She’s rather excited lol. And okay that’s fine haha I will ask her in my next appointment was just wondering 😊 thank you xx

Are you wanting her to visit? Honestly for me the added pressure of someone dropping by made me so anxious, especially after birth.

@Paige nah not waiting was just wondering as she mentioned it ahaha I have an apt with her next week at the hospital so I’ll ask , they usually warn you but Yh I feel you I’m gonna be the same honestly xx

I'm 29 weeks and haven't had any visits to my home

My midwife tried to make both my booking appointment and 16 week appointment a home visit, I politely told them that they’re not coming into my house because other people living here work from home. I don’t want midwife’s snooping around while people are trying to work. On top of that, my current home/accommodation is temporary so it’d be pointless for them to see a house where my baby won’t be raised & living in😅 If you don’t want them coming into your house, you’re allowed to say that☺️ Home visits are only necessary & usually happen after the baby is born and you’re under ‘health visitors’ care x

My midwife did a home visit around 30 weeks. It was to discuss my birth plan in a more comfortable setting. She then asked to see where the baby would be sleeping and reiterated safe sleeping rules and asked if I had any questions about my next2me. Then she looked at the baby’s nursery and asked if I had any questions about anything in there and was just generally nice. Asked to see a few of my favourite baby outfits because she knew I was excited about that and answered my questions on blankets/sleeping bags. Was useful to have her there so I could show them and get the answers.
