I’m not even over yet I’m 38 + 2 and my midwife offered me one so snapped her hands off😂 fingers are crossed for you, glad it wasn’t too painful!!
Girl say no. I had my first at 42 weeks baby was healthy. Came on time and I was done with the whole process in 6 hours start to finish. Everyone I know who’s had a sweep has been in labour minimum 12 hours :( ask if there is a medical reason for the sweep. If there isn’t then say no and let your body do its thing x
I had 2 with my first pregnancy. They were both uncomfortable but not painful. Labour started a day after my second sweep and I was in labour for 7 hours start to finish with no interventions.
I’ve had two so far 39 weeks and 39+3 (yesterday) They’re uncomfortable but not painful! Definitely manageable even for someone with a low pain threshold (me 😂) The only thing is for me they seem to have done next to nothing 🥲
I had one on my due date with my first and went into labour a couple of hours later, labour lasted around 5 hours. I can’t lie they’re not pleasant but just breathe through it and it’ll be done before you know it!
How far over are you? I had one this morning at 40+5 and it was absolutely fine. No pain at all just a mild period cramp during the actual sweeping part. 😅 I was already 1.5cm so I think that makes a big difference
