SAHM MUMS ON UNIVERSAL CREDIT

I’ve been on UC for just over a year now, my partner works full-time, our daughter is 18 months old, almost 19 months, my partner makes over the threshold which is classed as “making enough for both of us” but I have a UC appointment next week, I was just wondering how often other mums go to these appointments and what’s the point in them? The last appointment I went to was in November and they didn’t know why I was there because my partner was making enough for both of us they said it was a waste of trip and I didn’t need an appointment, I’m thinking it’s just gonna be a waste of trip again. They’re so annoying🙄🙄 So yeah how many times does everyone else have to attend appointments?🤔

I haven’t been to an appointment since we first set up our UC which was over a year ago. Everything is done through the journal. Maybe you could put a message on there?

@Sophie it’s annoying because the last appointment it was a waste of journey they said they had no clue why they made an appointment for me because my partner is earning enough but yet they keep doing it🙄 I might have to just ask why it’s been made as I was only in there 2 minutes last time, thank you xx

@Kay-louise that’s strange, how old is your little one? I know from 2 years old like to have you in more regular to prepare you for work for when they’re 3, I think it’s disgusting how they treat mums, being a mum is full time work in itself xx

@Sophie I have a disabled 5 year old, 2,1, 6 week old. I also run a small business so I’ve never understood it but hoping to be off uc very very soon xx

@Kay-louise that’s disgusting they’re making you go in weekly, honestly must want something better to do with their time😂 fingers crossed for you girl🤞🏻I was thinking of starting a small business myself it’s more hassle than what it’s worth on uc xx

@Sophie I’m lucky I’m now making roughly enough that in the next couple of months mine and my partners wages will wipe out if anyway xx
