Thank you! I’m hoping Mine all goes ok. I’m happy to have vaginal birth of baby measures average at my last scan and if I go into spontaneous labor before my section date but other then that I am not risking being late or possibly induced. I suffered a 3rd degree tear first time round and just want to feel relaxed and have more of a plan 😩 so stressful! X
My second consultant appointment was essentially, them filling out boxes, midwife doing the usual checks (urine, Doppler, measurements) and just ensuring I still want to proceed and I’m happy with all the information provided to me and if I have any questions. My 3rd appointment (36weeks) is when I will be booked in. Based Wiltshire.
I’ve got my second consultant appointment tomorrow at 36+4. At my first one, I just wanted to discuss the possibility of an elective C-section (after an emergency one with my first, who was on the 97th centile). Hoping to get a date tomorrow, will update once I’m back!:)
So I was wondering about this earlier as I had a telephone appointment with consultant to discuss c section a few weeks ago. They said I’d just get a call at 36 weeks (which is next week) but then I’ve seen a few people say they had another appointment with consultant so don’t know if they will just call, or if I should have another scheduled appointment? Seems like all trusts do things so differently
At mine I just confirmed I wanted an elective c section and signed some paperwork. I won’t get a date until around 37 weeks
Had my midwife appointment today and she said my appt next week with the consultant will be consent forms, going through risks and the procedure & me giving them my preference of when I want him booked in for from 39 weeks! Which I didn’t think you could do, I thought they tell you but then I’ll get a call in a few days after to be given the day x
I’ve just had my consultant appointment. After I said I’d decided to go ahead with an elective C-section, she brought up the online consent form and we went through it together. It wasn’t the consultant himself but a senior member of his team. She gave me the usual line about electives typically being done at 39 weeks, but I explained firmly that since this baby isn’t measuring large (unlike my first), I feel confident waiting a bit longer. I gave her my preferred dates between 40+1 and 40+4 and she said she would pass them on. Apparently they’ll send a message once it’s confirmed, but she wasn’t sure how long that usually takes.
Mine was really straight forward: he said “do you still want a section” I said yes and we spoke about the reasons why. He then said he was happy to proceed and said I’d get a date within 2 days - literally not even 12 hours later I was called back with a date. Now have aenesthetic appointment and a pre op appointment booked in xx
