‘Do you have lion eggs?’

Does anyone else feel like a total loon asking restaurants/cafes etc if they have lion standard eggs when they’re not obviously pregnant? 🤣 I’m sure they must think I’m really fussy or a bit mad, especially the first time when I just referred to them as lion eggs and my dad very unhelpfully chipped in with ‘lions don’t lay eggs’ 😂🤦‍♀️ cannot stand a fully cooked egg so it’s lion or nothing for me haha

Tbh I just assume they are all lion standard so I’ve never asked! 🫣 Unless it’s a farm shop cafe or something…

I think something like 90% of all eggs in the uk are lion marked, so it’s only really ones from people that keep their own or maybe a small farm shop or something that won’t be. I’m also pretty sure Food Standards Agency stuff means any caterers or restaurants etc have to use them or make it really clear they are not. That being said, I’m super anxious so have just been avoiding them if I eat out anyway.

I used to ask for mayonnaise and loads of restaurants would make their own and source locally for the eggs, I remembered asking is that like Tesco or? And they’d say no a farm I was so shocked how many would say this xx
