Talking?

Is anyone baby talking? I feel like my LO is so behind. He knows bubble, dog and blue.

Biggest advice is to talk to him like you’re talking to an adult. Make sure you’re saying things correctly.

Yes, quite a bit but every child learns at different times Narrate everything and talk to him like he is an adult, read daily, point things out Don’t just hand him stuff even if you know what he wants, say it to him “Oh you want your cup? Okay, here is your *insert color* cup. It has *insert drink* in it.”

Hey, girl! It’s good that your baby is talking already!! Progress which is good!! My 20 month old babygirl is already saying, momma, daddy, Mimi, dog, duck, bubble, hawk, she tells the dogs to get! She will say hi, bye bye, she will also say Apple, ABC. It takes time but overtime it will happen! Every baby develops and learns at different rates! I promise. When my daughter was about 18 months old she hadn’t said anything at all, while I had several friends where there kids where about her age and they were already pronouncing words. I felt down too, but it does get better over time And I’m kinda shocked because she’s not even 2 yet! So it takes time!! I promise. He’s doing great!! Every child learns at different rates, but I feel you momma. He’s doing good! I promise. Progress is good!😊

My daughter is I would encourage picture books also sign language is a great thing too

Hi! My baby knows about 10 words and the doctor says she should know about twenty so she recommended speech therapy

My twins (21 months) are both only saying 1-2 words but they communicate and understand really well. Due to their age they still qualify for the free services my state provides to do early intervention with kids who have delays. No one is worried about it bc they are twins and are bilingual but that is what the early intervention program is about. It doesn’t hurt to get services but in the event they will have delays it is good to work on it early.

Remember things like animal sounds count, and words that they don't enunciate properly (not sure if this helps, but some parents aren't aware!) 3 words at 20-21 months, id definitely chat with your pediatrician about speech services (especially because in some places it's free under 3! So better to take advantage of it asap)

Mine still doesn’t do sentences - so far we’re getting “more please” but he’s not able to add in the noun of the thing he wants. Repeating what he says and having him repeat us is helping with that I think.

My daughter is 21 months and she’s finally saying words! Probably around 12 words and still no mummy yet lol. However she went from not saying one thing to all of a sudden saying all these words. Just give them time, sing songs And read! They’ll get there
