New to this

So my son has always had certain behaviors and is a very rough child. Since turning 4, they have gotten worse. At the time I didn't say anything to his doc cause I didn't give much thought to it. Now it is hitting the point where he needs help of some sort. I made a doc about to talk about it but should I also reach out to early intervention to have him observed or just what and see what the doctor says? I'm also at a lost on what to expect because looking at his behaviors he can fall into a bunch of different things

what behaviours?

@PeachyQueen impulsive, chewing on shirt, sensitive to light and sound, very physical when playing, ocd and has little ticks

I just recommend reaching out to everyone you can to get him the help he needs that’s what I did and my sons early intervention was the only person who listened and got him into Speach occupational physical and early intervention therapy at 2 yrs old but his dr wasn’t listening and wouldn’t get him into any therapies. Then we got his autism diagnosis at 3 he is level 2 he has lower support needs as he does communicate but he was nonverbal at 3 and now he has come soooo far with these therapies. Also his behaviors have improved incredibly if I would’ve listened to his pediatrician, my son would not be where he is now, but it took a lot of pushing and advocating and it’s not easy but it’s worth it. My best advice is to listen to your gut and do everything in your power to get him as many services as you possibly can.
