Is this app it's a waste of time?

I've yet to have a genuine connection with any mom on here. Also, the comments on most post's are all drama. Most people ask or invite opinions on here but get so dramatic when someone differs in their opinion. It's like we're in high-school all over again and the mean girls are always out to play. The lack of adult communication on this app is concerning to me.

Haven't made a friend Not here for the drama and don't take part in it But I find the app useful for tips and suggestions 😁 and it's so helpful to know there are plenty of people in the same boat as you (especially while navigating as a first time mom)

I feel like the women on here caused me to be more in my head about my relationship than I was before. When I asked for help, I didn't always get help and understanding, just help and judgment. I have not made any friends. And I feel like this is my only social outlet so sometimes I am only on here for social exposure- not entertainment though.

I made a good friend on here. Our kids are little besties now. I like the forums.

I’ve met so many mums from here. 14 over the span of 3.5yrs. Although I don’t have social anxiety so I have a chat and see where she goes already see if she wants to meet or has met anyone before, for many of them I’m their first or second meet. Keep in touch and made good friends w maybe 4-5 of them. One of them intro me to her friend group who she met off bumble lol. I comment alot but don’t take part in controversial or drama posts. I’m here for the polls now that the app has been successful for me in making friends. The mums that I have met, I’ve never seen them in any posts or made any comments lol because they’re not really using the app for advice they’re here to meet and make friends.

I don’t use this app to meet people, it’s just hard to connect with people I’m not meeting in person. I honestly don’t even bother swiping through women in my area or in the chat feature. Peanut is an amazing online resource for seeking advice, sharing experiences, gaining worldwide knowledge, and finding support. I don’t have an in-person village so these groups are extremely helpful for me as a new-ish mom. Many women like having a safe space to share their opinions since they can’t do so with the people in their personal lives. There are so many great things about this app if you adjust your scrolling to your own needs.

I’ve never met anyone irl that resulted in a lasting friendship, but I’ve made several long distance connections through the groups. I think this app has a lot of toxicity, especially this group, but what you get out of it all depends on the content you seek and the posts/people you choose to engage with. If you’re looking for drama and a fight, you’ll find it; if you’re looking for connection and support, you can find that too.
