Slow cookers

Does anyone have a slow cooker and can advise me wether they are worth it as I’m thinking to get one. Would be great if you share some light on how to use it and what kind of things you make in there/ is it energy efficient? Thank you x

I got one around the time my daughter was born, so 5 years ago, and I have used it 1-2 per week since then! It’s been used so much. It so convenient because dinner is sorted and can be dished up whenever we are ready, it’s especially handy now she has classes after school so I don’t have the time around dinner time to be cooking but I can find some time earlier in the day to get it going in the slow cooker. We do curries, stews, bolognese, pulled meat, we had sweet and sour pork last night in it, we do the Sunday roast meat in it. I have a few slow cooker recipe books which are handy to have.

There is a lot You can do in them. I’ve had mine for about 8 years and I use it on and off. I normally Go through phases of being organised enough to use it then not for a bit but I wouldn’t get rid of it. There are lots of things you can do. It depends what you are making though as some things aren’t great in them

I use mine a lot. I use it for things I'd normally cook on the hob and need to constantly stir. So curry bolognese, meatballs, any dish with sauce basically 😅. I just find it easier to throw it all in the slow cooker and leave it for the day. Its done then for dinner time and I've not had to spend anytime supervising the pan whilst it cooks.

Thank you so much for all your feedback ladies 🥰
