What was in the vape? Weed or nicotine? This hasn’t happened to me but I completely understand it being a mistake and being worried. Things happen but I would definitely make sure it never happens again.

It was nicotine(like a flavoured nicotine one) 🤷🏽♀️ like a disposable one. I don’t smoke at all, so I’m so angry at my partner but he genuinely did not mean it. Xx
Mine has done it when he was younger, they’ve blown into it to make smoke come out the bottom not actually inhaled it youre fine x
If for any reason he has inhaled it???? (Which I’m unsure of cause I don’t smoke it) if he has a little bit will he be okay?????? My partner said he did cough for a split second(which makes me think he maybe did inhale it idk how it works??? Will he be okay?? 😭 I feel so bloody terrible 💔xxx
This happened to my friend, they just washed the baby’s mouth out with water and she was fine! Accidents happen, don’t be too hard on yourself xx
He’ll be fine! The disposables have quite low levels of nicotine so it’s more than likely he got basically nothing and the rest is just vegetable glycerin and flavours. Tomatoes have more nicotine in them than what he would have gotten!
@Morgan hey, I just wanted to correct you here, the disposable ones are 2%, which is actually 20mg of nicotine, so they're actually really strong Original poster, please don't worry, I'm sure your little one will be fine. As long as they're not dizzy or anything afterwards, the nicotine won't affect them. A nicotine 'overdose' shows as feeling light headed/dizzy/passing out and I'm sure he didn't have enough to cause any problems
My love. This is a perfectly normal accident. It’s not the end of the world everything will be okay! Just next time you and your bf will be more mindful with those items.
@Hannah that’s in the entire vape, a single puff has significantly less. 20mg divided by approximately 600 puffs 0.03333 in a whole puff which it doesn’t sound like he had

No judgement AT all - I think it’s one of those things that like it happens, you’re lucky it wasn’t bad bad, and you will be so so careful in the future to make sure anything like it doesn’t happen again. The one thing I’ll say is I hope your partner is as shaken as you are about it
Don't ask if people judge you....it's their issue if they chose to judge you! Accidents happen! It doesn't matter how careful everyone is! Honestly don't worry, it sounds like it a negligible amount and will most likely be out of their system by now! Just think back to the 50s onwards to the 90s where parents just went ahead and smoked full blown cigarettes in front of their kids! I literally have a photo of me at 6 months old sat on my dad's lap and he has a cigarette in his hand. I'm not saying this to condone it anyway but just try and put your mind at rest! You are a great mum...shit happens xx
It’s happens to the most of us. Don’t beat yourself up for it! My husband vapes and smokes weed. There’s a moment he has got a hold of his father’s vape when he was younger and has been fine. He’s 5 now and we have been continuing to educate/explain to him on it . He know it’s vape and vape juice. He also know about weed as my husband refers to it as medicine.
I vape. And I can tell you my kids have done it a few times. They just cough, and nothing ever happens. It's not enough to actually hurt them

Not your fault at all. You should be able to trust the judgement of your partner. More than the little puff, I would be concerned about the example your children are getting. They already know how to vape. There are things that it is better not to do in front of children because they learn them, we encourge the behaviour or we put them at risk. This was one of them. If your partner can't stop smoking in front of them, he has a problem he has to address.

Just an accident ! I know that feeling, I had it when I once let my baby fall from the bed when hr was not even 6months. I felt like the most terrible mom ever. I had him checked by doctor and did a head scan - even after they confirm he was totally okey it asks me some days to accept that sometimes accidents happen.. it asks even less than 1second !
He will be fine. But may be time to stop vaping around the kids
This isn’t your fault, this is your partners fault. He should know better not to have it around yalls children. Try not to blame yourself! ❤️ You can’t be in charge and have eyes on them all the time! He should have never had it around them or in reach. Sounds like you are a wonderful mom. Don’t blame yourself for his mistakes! ❤️
My daughter grabbed ahold of my neighbors (a cop) vape while we were outside playing and he cried. Thought he had just ruined her life. I told him it was okay life happens just please make sure to keep it out of reach when around that way it doesn't happen again. I also sat her down and explained it was a grown up thing and it was dangerous for her to touch it. She never went for a vape again and she's only 2.

My oldest son chewed on one of his dads cigarettes when he was 1, we ended up in a&e for him to be monitored 🫠 things happen unfortunately, happens to the best of us 😂
Obviously try not to let it happen again but I don’t think either of you are bad because it happened once. Accidents happen and kids do pay more attention than we think
Mistakes happen! I think now it’s happened you know it can happen so you’ll be extra cautious. The fact you feel so bad means you’re a fab mum doing a great job!
You're fine, but honestly it's about availability of things is what it is Mistakes can happen and kids will grab anything in reach , generally if given the chance , but give both of yourselves grace
That also happened to me when my girl was about 1 year old . Ever since we are very careful and keeping vape away from her . It smells good so I guess they are curious and think its something yum . Your kid will be fine , but just keep in mind it could happen again if the vape is around the child . 🤗 xxx
Happened to me when my boy was about 9mo, thought my new air freshener had gone off in my living room to turn aroundand see him stood at the coffee table blowinginto the bottom hole. It was a well learned lesson to ALWAYS keep them out of reach ever since.
I peppered sprayed myself with fly spray as a kid once, my son regularly try’s to steal my redbull and once when my daughter was still crawling I’m pretty sure she ate a moth so hey it happens 🤷🏻♀️

My 2 year old done this. He actually nicked it out of my partner's pocket. He coughed too but I think he likes it cause he keeps trying to steal it now. Partner was absolutely devastated but I think it's kinda funny. He doesn't smoke the nicotine ones so I'm sure he's fine 🤣
I don’t smoke nor vape (never did) but what I do know is that accidents happen. These situations are a reminder that we need to pay more attention to what we leave unattended. I’m sure you both will be way more careful from now on ☺️

Girlie it happens to the best of us. My one year old got ahold of grandmas once. Accidents happen. Try not to let other moms have that much power over you. Don’t ask them how they feel and if they hate you. Some moms are mean simply for no reason. If your child is happy and safe YOURE A GOOD MOM.
