Not eating!

My 23 month old does not eat! Maybe a bowl of porridge for breakfast with his vitamins in, then literally just snacks all day and I mean grazing/snacks. No full meals. He has also started just spitting food out. He will take a bite, chew and then spit it out and this is with all foods, even ones he used to like! Anyone else going through the same?!

@Amy oh thank god it’s not just my son!

My daughters not been eating all week, she’s only had half a banana or slice of toast each day

Oh yeah same!! I’m trying to not worry so much. Don’t forget snacks are food too! You can offer a good range of healthy foods through the day whilst still only providing snacks. Annoying though I know. Feels like you’re just prepping food ALL DAY

Hmmm my husband and I were just talking about this yesterday.. she is becoming a preferential eater... Hmmm

My 2 year old sons been doing the same, eats maybe a banana for breakfast and a few biscuits or a packet of crisps throughout the day. He won’t eat meals for anyone, my family are stuggling to feed him well I’m working. He use to eat well at nursery but now we won’t. He will scream for food at lunch and dinner time cause he’s hungry and he knows it’s meal time but just won’t eat it. He Will sit down, take a bite and then spit it out or throw it. Called the doctor cause he was premature, they said call the health visitor and they were useless as well. Told me I had to control his behaviour. He’s behaviour is fine, he’s happy and listens just won’t eat.

@Paige literally same she harasses me at the kitchen but doesn’t eat, we have doctors today..

@Charlotte mine stands at the kitchen gate, screaming watching me cook, waiting for it but doesn’t eat it. Good luck today, hopefully they help 🤞

My 23 month old doesn’t eat much, mostly just snacks. If I put I meal infront of him he will pick at it and eat maybe a mouthful and that’s eat, my 3 yr old is the same as well

My now 3 year old used to do this a lot around age 2 until I did a parasite cleanse. Also she was not sleeping well. Waking up a lot screaming and crying during the night. Struggled with naps. All that changed I did the parasite cleanse. It was gentle and for toddlers.

I also did heavy metal detox trough baths and drops.

My little boy is like this too. He has porridge made with cows milk, raspberries and a yoghurt for breakfast. Lunch and dinner are really hit and miss now. He used to eat so well too. Now just clamps his mouth shut for meals and refuses to eat and has complete meltdowns over snacks.

@Michelle how did you do this?

@Claire I’m so worried about him, but I know docs will not help and he hates being weighed etc so it’ll just be a massive faff!!

@Tania I wonder how he sustains himself! His bowels still move regular if not a little bit harder than usual but I get so worried x

@Paige why are they like this 😂

@Helen true!

@Charlotte it’s so worrying!!

Mine is also suddenly only eating his porridge, fruit or snacks. And by snacks I mean he will eat a chip, or a few crisps, or a cracker. Nothing nutritious. Definitely no meals. He used to love pasta, and toast and is now refusing both.

@Rebecca mine too! Won’t even look at toast, pasta or pizza and they used to be his fave

Our daughter is generally a good eater, but she does have days like this. When she does, I try presenting her food differently and almost snack-like. We have party platter type plates that I use (or adult plates/small wooden grazing boards etc) and she loves the novelty so will eat a little more. On days like this, I also deconstruct things and make them a bit more snack-like, if she’s not going for meals. Just a thought - not wanting to teach anyone to suck eggs at all. 😊

@Amber I bought this product called Parapatrol on Amazon from joyspring. But try to get any parasite cleanse that’s gently for toddlers. I also took her to the doctors in the Dominican Republic and they did a parasite stool test and it came out that she had pinworms parasites. So after I did the cleanse she started eating and sleeping better. She no longer wakes up during the night and is not a picky eater.
