Called the cops on a family today

We were on our way home and down the block from our house we saw a 1/2 yr old girl in nothing but a diaper standing on the sidewalk with the house doors wide open. She was out there for over 10 minutes, naked, no adults looking for her, wondering in and out of the road. So we called the cops and waited in a nearby parking lot watching. Cops showed up and approached the door a minute after the toddler crawled back inside. The cop definitely saw the toddler crawl inside and the door was shut as soon as the cop stepped out of her cruiser. The people inside then refused to answer the door to the police; their neighbor got defensive and came out asking why the police were there. This isn't the greatest neighborhood. It was just like, a naked toddler wandered out of the house and no one was looking for her! She could have been kidnapped so easily. I'm glad we happened to be driving by. The child was wandering around out in the road / sidewalk for like 15 minutes AFTER we saw her.🫣

You did the right thing. No toddler should be outside unsupervised.

Thank you for calling

You did the right thing calling the cops. I hope the authorities followed up.

You definitely did the right thing ❤️

Good on you for looking out for that child. Hopefully they were able to contact the parents, or whoever was behind the door.

@Melissa we waited for the patrol car to pull up before leaving, they were there is less than 5 min

Hope they was charged with neglect & child endangerment

@Kay there was probably a good reason they didn't want to answer the door and talk to the cops after the fact 😅

@Tiffany cops did a terrible job then

@Kay we left while the cop was still trying to get them to answer the door. So I'm sure they followed through somehow
