Scarfing down food

My daughter will be 11 months on the 1st, and she loves food, which I love for her. The problem is even though I LOAD her plate because she's a hungry girl, it's completely empty within 5 minutes. And very little ends up on the floor or in her high chair. If some falls in her bib (we have the silicone catchers) she'll dig in there for leftovers. Because of this, I have no time to eat myself. By the time I serve myself and take 2 bites, she's already done eating and crying to get out of the chair. Plus she ends up swallowing a lot of air because of how fast she eats and she's sooo gassy. Thankfully she's able to take care of it on her own without issues, but I feel like it can't be good for her to be eating so fast. Should I be worried? Any suggestions to help slow her down and allow myself some time to eat?

My 9 month old is the same. I use a regular plate for her food and place a few bites at a time, then take a couple bites as she eats hers. When she starts fussing I add more to her plate, now she sits contently while I finish a few bites even if her plate is empty because she knows there’s always more if she wants it. Also helps to slow her down and prevent gas

Like use a regular plate that’s easy to rinse and clean for the full portion and place a few bites on her baby plate/ high chair tray at a time

It's normal. Also make your plate at the same time so you can eat together

Introduce a fork and spoon?

Agree with Liv. My daughter is the same but I only give her a few pieces at a time on her tray. She eats so much better then my toddler but that's another conversation lol. But that way her brain catches up to her stomach telling her she's full vs crying at the end. I let my daughter sit got a bit in her high chair otherwise she will spit up when she plays in her playpen.

Put less food on her plate and when she’s done give her some more, repeat until she’s had her usual portion
