How do you play The Price is Right baby shower game?
We probably don’t need to tell you how this well-loved game show works—particularly if you’ve been watching the show since you were a kid yourself.
But in case you’re a newcomer, we’ll fill you in on the rules.
The premise of The Price is Right is that contestants compete for prizes and cash by guessing the prices of merchandise and experiences.
From televisions to vacations to cars, the right estimate comes with an often very enticing pay-off. It’s not hard to guess why this show comes in with a built-in excitement generator.
But what about The Price is Right baby shower game?
Well, it works off this same idea—but with a baby shower twist.
The host purchases several common baby items – a pack of diapers, a pacifier, a tub of diaper cream, etc. (If these items are on the mama-to-be’s registry, all the better.)
On a separate sheet of paper that only the host can see, note how much each item costs, and the total value of all the items.
Then the host writes the names of these items on cards – one card for each player.
(Spoiler alert: we’ve got a template below for you below to make your very own.)
When it comes time to play, distribute the cards to the guests.
Then, the host holds up each item, one by one.
The players have to guess the cost of the item and write their estimate on their card.
This is repeated until you’ve gone through all of the items.
Each player then has to add up the dollar value of each item on the list and come up with a total.
The person who comes closest to the actual total wins a prize.
It’s that simple. And incredibly versatile.

Just because all the players aren’t in the same physical location, it doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the fun.
A virtual game can be just as delightful.
Just before showtime, email out the betting card.
Tell the players that nobody is allowed to open the attachment until the host gives the go-ahead.
(This is to prevent people from looking up the prices ahead of time.)
Then, the host holds each item to the camera, one at a time, giving the players a chance to get a good look at it.
Just as they would in person, each player guesses the price of each item.
Once they’ve been through all of the items, the participants tally up their guesses.
And whoever is closest wins!
Sure, there’ll be a little trust involved as you don’t know if anyone’s searching up the real prices online.
But provided you all agree to the ground rules, you can still have just as much fun as you would in person.
And if you would like to have prizes for your virtual version of The Price is Right, gift certificates to an online store can be a great option.
