NHS Maternity leave

I am due to return to work in February after being on maternity. My partner and I are keen to try for our second child next year and wondered if anyone knew how long you had to return to work to be entitled for full maternity pay again?

How are we all coping financially with the cost of living etc?

Both me and my partner are working full time, have a big mortgage to pay and nursery fees are several hundred a month. By the time we pay all other bills we are scratching around each month. I know most people are struggling in this economic climate, rent and mortgages are so high as well as food shopping, council t...

Vent

I wanna get off welfare, I'm just so tired of the stereotyping. Like I have a job and am trying to get a better one I have had two or 3 jobs at once but am still on welfare. I did my recertification and the lady on the phone told me if I wasn't on the cash assistance program which pays half my rent in the new devel...

Child support

Currently on maternity leave and my partner is working, can we claim the weekly child benefit payment? When back at work, can we then use the tax free child care scheme and free hours? Wasn’t sure if you are allowed to use all of them or does the weekly payment stop you from being able to claim the tax free childcare

Overdraft fees are killing us

I get paid monthly as I’m disabled. November was tight but I managed to pay all our bills, get our meds, fill up the car, and get groceries. I had a lil less than $8 left in the bank. Well I forgot about a subscription that was $6.99 and told my daughter to go ahead and get the game thing she wanted for $.99. Bc o...

Hey ladies

I can earn £100 for 5 hours work, but will need to spend 3 hours travelling in total and spend £25 on transport. I don't have anything else to do on the same day. Should I take the job.

Government Assistance

Hey mamas, I’m applying for CAPS and Food Stamps and I’m trying to figure out the best way to get approved. My hours has refused to 15 hours so I’m thinking I should be okay. Is it best to submit a pay stub of an employment letter for income verification?

I have two hospital bills for myself (contractions stopped the first day I went in), a hospital and ER bill for my baby, and all the pediatrician appt bills since. I’m grateful for insurance cause it could be much more expensive, and I ...

Unpaid leave for NCT antenatal class

I’m a teacher and wanted to attend my final NCT session. It happened to fall on a school day and I therefore needed the day off. It was recorded as unpaid leave so it will be deducted from my wages. Would antenatal classes be considered a routine antenatal appointment (which is paid) or would you say that it should ...

Financial stress

I’m feeling so stressed about money . It’s slowing running out . I have no one to look after my son , and I can’t afford to send him to a nursery . The nursery wanted £1700 per month after the 15 hours deducted 😳. I’m trying to figure out how can I make money whilst I have my son. My old job didn’t actually pay…

KIT DAYS

Anybody who has done them, were you paid? I had to go into the office for 3 hours (plus one hour travel there and another travel back). Today I’ve been paid and there’s no reflection of any pay for this! I’ve been asked to go in again for an hour in the next week or so and again for a 3 hour meeting in mid-December....

Job seeking

Hi ladies! I’m a first time mom to a beautiful 3 month old; I just received an offer but it’s not a work from home position. I’ve applied to dozens of WFH jobs and completed assessments but nothing. Can anyone share some laid back WFH jobs that are swift with hiring?
