Vagina Itchy/ swollen?!

Hello all - marking as anon cause don’t want no one recognising me haha. So my labia feels - swollen? Like bigger if that makes sense, I’m almost 31 weeks. My vagina in between the lips feels sore, quite itchy actually, just wanna scratch but ya know, not acceptable lol. I can’t tell if it’s more red than usual, cause I don’t remember the original shade and I haven’t seen it in months lol. It’s not a STI or anything I haven’t had sex for about 3 months, and I’m engaged to my partner so that’s a no no. Anyone else experience this? Get a medical opinion or find a reason or cream etc to use? It’s been itchy maybe a week now.

Could it possibly be thrush? You can get Canesten from the chemist which is safe in pregnancy. Or with pantyliners if you use them frequently they can cause irritation Could also just be your hormones causing inflammation.

Thanks so much - canisten it is then, I’ll put it in my basket! Never had it before in my life. So strange! I do enjoy a scented bubble bath so that’s probably not helping!

O gosh stay away from the scented bubble baths lol hopefully the cream gets it away, usually lifts it after a few days

I have experienced exactly this - it’s no fun! Not sure whether it’s just due increased blood flow down there or thrush which is apparently common in pregnancy but a combination of wearing cotton underwear and using canesten external cream from the pharmacy has resolved it for me

Sounds like thrush to me, hopefully some cream will clear it up for you! Xx

I have experienced this and googled it lol it’s can be due to the increased blood flow, to help with swelling it does say you can apply cold compress

Just be careful what canistan cream you use some arnt safe in pregnancy, I only know because had thrush and then 111 told me to get the cream and pesarry and then was told can't use that one as pregnant xx

It says on Canesten info that thrush is common in pregnancy so surely it’s safe to use? Otherwise that’s the point in advertising that

I was at GP two weeks and she told me the cream was grand for internal and external use

Defo thrush you defo need canistan
