Car seat

When did you guys change your car seat facing forward? My daughter is 1 next week and seems like she has no room left. Should it be ok to switch her round?

Post above speaks on legality however they actually say it’s far more comfortable for babies to bend their legs rear facing than it is for their legs to be dangling facing forward. Extended rear facing until at least 4 is preferable in terms of safety so I’m sure your one year old had plenty of room left yet. I’d do some research on what happens if a crash occurs when a child is forward facing as opposed to rear facing. The consequences of forward facing can be pretty horrific.

My 3 year old is still rear facing and has never once complained he is uncomfortable and his legs are crossed. Its so much safer to rear face. There is a safety car seat page on fb which has lots of information which should help x

Research extended rear facing. https://axkid.com/uk/why-rear-facing-is-safer/ . This website outlines why it is safer. Look up videos of forward facing crashes, and it will change your mind.

15 months with my first as she would scream the whole journey and be too much of a distraction when driving. FF changed everything and she no longer moans at all. Will do the same if my May 23 baby starts to kick off being rear facing. RF is safer, but don't have people force it down your throat. Do what suits you and your baby xx

I switched my son to forward facing when he was 5.5 years old

3, then I got a bigger car so upgraded my carseats and swapped him back around. If my 4yo has room, your 1yo definitely does... ultimately, I'd suggest research pros and cons and make your own choice based on the risks. Also, unless you want to get your entire asshole ripped out for asking a question, I'd avoid the Facebook group they're right c*nts

My 3 year old still test faces as I plan to do so for at least another year if not more
