NHS referral

Hi everyone, I am 11 DPO today and got a faint positive. Been trying from last 2.5 years..!! I have got my first faint positive.. Last month I had an appointment with the gp NHS and they said to lose 2kgs weight and then we will refer you to fertility clinic for IVF. I was about to go the NHS for the referral as 1 cycle of IVF is free for people who don't have any child before.. I am really happy that I got faint positive today. I have pcos as well. I want to be positive but something or other going on in my mind. So my Question is if this pregnancy is chemical pregnancy. Do I need to tell this to NHS. Because if I did I won't get my free first cycle of IVF. As I cant afford to do IVF in UK it is too expensive... Or do I need to tell NHS. Please help ladies 🙏🏽 Quite worried

You haven’t had a child so it shouldn’t matter. X

@Yog Thanks for replying. Yes but if someone had misscarriage previously then they also don't fund the free IVF cycle. I don't if they consider chemical preg as misscariage or not

Did the nhs say they wouldn't fund if you had a miscarriage previously? Reason I ask is I had miscarriage prior 2 starting ivf, 2 in fact and I was still able to get 2 rounds of ivf on nhs. I would see how you go, it may not be a chemical, if it does turn out to be a miscarriage I would not mention unless you feel necessary for health reasons.

I would check the actual wording in the funding conditions for your local ICB, as usually it states no living children from either party of the couple.

If it's a chemical you may not have realised you were pregnant and thought you were having a period so you shouldn't have to disclose it to them as alot of people don't know they have had chemicals

Only if you birth a child they won’t pay. Many women have many miscarriages which is why they are referred to fertility so having a miscarriage won’t make any difference
