Thank you so much @A.R. For sharing your journey! My clinic wants the medicated cycle exactly for that reason to have control over when I’d be ovulating. They didn’t seem to be very open to a modified natural cycle… but might push for it 🤞🏼
After lots of medicated FETs I’m currently doing a modified natural cycle at the mo (day 9 of 2ww!) I asked my Dr if she’d consider it as my progesterone always tests low and I wanted the option to produce some naturally. It’s made a big difference to that which was a relief! Lining also thickened nicely naturally and no Progynova headaches! Can’t say if it’s worked yet but for me it feels better so I’d suggest ask you Dr again if it’s what you want to do. Sometimes we have to take charge! Good luck xx
Thanks for sharing @Loral ! Keeping my fingers crossed for you. I’ll definitely talk to my fertility doc for a more natural cycle. Let’s hope he’ll be open to it
I did a medicated FET, since they had me do some pre implantation testing to make sure everything looked good to go, so I was on BC for a bit. Once I started the cycle I did estrogen orally 3x a day for 14 days, then six days before FET I added progesterone suppositories 2x a day and PIO shots every other day. FET worked, and am 9 weeks now - this’ll be my last week of meds. Good luck! Talk to your clinic about what makes the most sense for your situation! My friend’s Natural FET cycle worked for her, so both can work it just depends on the circumstances!
I had 2 medicated FETs with 4 estrofem tablets plus progesterone from 5 days pre transfer. First one failed and second ended in chemical. I hated the estrogen tablets they really messed with my head. I then had 2 modified natural FETs the first one I was on aspirin and clexane injections and then trigger plus progesterone, got pregnant but had a MMC. Second modified natural FETs we dropped the clexane (I had tests which suggested I didn’t need it) and now 21 weeks pregnant Did you ask about a modified natural cycle? Some clinics don’t like them as they can control timings better with a medicated cycle. My clinics preference is normally for a medicated cycle but we tried the modified natural cycle just to do something different and it seemed to suit my body better. There is a risk that a natural cycle will be cancelled if you ovulate over the weekend so that is a potential downside & I won’t lie it did cause me some stress the second time around as I thought that would happen
