@Lisa okay that doesn’t sound too bad. I really don’t want another baby at the moment and I’m not consistent enough to be on the pill so that gives me some relief. Thanks!
Highly recommend this podcast all about avoiding pregnancy naturally. No hormonal birth control or anything else that just doesn’t make sense to mess with your body in an unnatural way. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-spillover-with-alex-clark/id1507839530?i=1000658113532
I did not have a good experience
There are a lot of options, from nexplanon to the patch, the ring or the shot, that go beyond the pill. Copper IUDs have a different side effect profile from hormonal ones. Talk to a medical professional that knows your history (frequency and heaviness of bleeding, blood clot risk, smoking history, etc) about all your options.
I had it for 6 months and it was hell. Had bloating and cramping constantly, heavy periods every 2 weeks that would last over a week so felt like I was constantly bleeding. Wanted it cos it was non hormonal but was the worst thing ever
I have seen a lot of babies born with the iud in their heads just a heads up. It’s not 100% just like everything else.
@Kirsty my experience was similar. I couldn’t last six months with the pain and bloating every day. I had mine removed after 2 months.
@Julie I only lasted 6 months cos the guy who put it in used a speculum too big and it was agony I couldn’t stand up straight after he did it, so I was terrified to go get it out
I’ve had mines for 10 months now I gained 50lb and my period started bck light but last forever the cramps feel like regular cramps I was having the period cramps with no period every month and yeaaaaaa……😳lol I don’t want nomo kids right now so I’m not complaining too much
I had mine for 11 years! It was a great non hormonal birth control method. I had a few issues at first with it partially Expelling but I think that can happen with any iud
