@Miriam my toddler now is 2. I got pregnant with him at 31
My toddler turns two this month! I just got pregnant with my second. Took about 4 -5 months? We did have a chemical pregnancy in there but it didn't go anywhere. It took a year and a half with our first and we did do fertility treatments.
@Miriam oh congratulations❤️❤️❤️🥹! I feel now I’m more relaxed with my toddler then when he was younger. But it could be also the rocky relationship with my husband that keeps me nervous at times. I’m just scared that I may not be able to have more babies 😖. Since my first was so easy. It makes me wonder is there something wrong with me now? Well I guess just time will tell. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with me 🙂💛
Stress can definitely impact your fertility. I’m 35 and pregnant with my first. Last year I got pregnant very quickly on my honeymoon but had a miscarriage. I was working an extremely stressful job and felt like it was taking forever to get pregnant again after the miscarriage. My husband and I decided that it would be best for me to quit my job and focus on starting a family since we both really wanted kids. I quit my job and became a nanny and within 2 months I got pregnant! I genuinely think the stress of my job was preventing me from being able to get pregnant again! I would try to work on things in your marriage if possible. Maybe couples therapy? If you don’t feel that’s an option try to practice some self care to help you de-stress.
I also read the book “it starts with the egg” by Rebecca Fett. It talks about how diet and lifestyle can impact your egg quality. I followed the guidance in the book to help try and boost my fertility naturally too. I had no idea that we could actually impact our egg quality until I read that book!
Yes I had secondary infertility. Fell pregnant in the 1st month naturally with my first. But after years of investigating, doctors found and cleaned out endometriosis around my ovaries and near tubal openings. Still had to do IVF for my 2nd and 3rd.
I don't think after 3 months you can call it secondary infertility. It's normal for it to take up to a year to conceive. I know how you feel though, my first 3 were conceived on the pill, 4th the first week of trying, 5th was a one, off oops moment, 6th was the first month....so when baby 7 took 6 months I panicked and thought it wasn't going to happen..I actually conceived in month 7 once I stopped tracking ovulation and BBT, ate and drank what i wanted, and relaxed. Baby 8, 1st week of trying, again. I think there's definitely something in just going with the flow and not stressing yourself out about it . I currently have 3 living children and baby 4 on the way x
It's highly unlikely you became infertile. It is 100% normal for it to take way less or way longer with a second baby to conceive. I am 35 and just conceived first month, but I have my eggs saved just in case it is taking forever for 2nd. I think we all like to think it was our fertility superiority (or inferiority if it takes a while) that made it so easy for us to conceive. I personally like to think of it as 'that was your baby' and it's the time that your specific baby is supposed to come to Earth. We do not understand why it sometimes takes longer or shorter to conceive. It doesn't seem to be an exact science, but I'm pretty sure going crazy worrying about it isn't going to help. I don't believe we control conception and I think letting go of control and enjoying the process instinctively feels like it could help. I will say go get your thyroid antibodies (not just levels) checked, plus the levels. High thyroid hormone can stop you getting pregnant. My egg freezing doctor caught my Hashimotos...
.. and if he hadn't and I hadn't got treated, maybe it could have impacted my conception. He point blank told me I won't get pregnant with those thyroid levels. I had seen doctors over and over again about tiredness and had my hormones tested loads but at 4.6 Th they considered it 'normal'. It is not normal for a woman my age, and so when I got the antibodies tested they came back with off the charts antibodies indicating Hashimotos disease. My life is so much better after treatment.
Stress can contribute. How old is your first? It can be a little bit for your body to return to normal cycle depending on recently your cycle started back up again.
