I took my son to Netherlands on my own. Whole journey on my own - train then plane. The staff at airports are so helpful if you’re on your own! I did it for the same reason - my brother lives there so went to see them. It’s definitely tiring and definitely not a holiday for you at all 🤣 but so worth it!
My parents live an hour away by plane, them up in Scotland and me down in London and I fly with my daughter up to them at least every 3 months. It was daunting at first but once you do it you'll get into the swing of it and now your boy is older he will understand better. A really organised nappy bag, travel stroller and toys/snacks for the plane and your flight will be great 😊 and everyone is so helpful for mums on their own with kids. Go and enjoy yourself definitely xx
I’m a single mum and took my daughter away for a week on my own recently, we had a great time! People at the airports were so helpful when they saw i was travelling on my own with her x
Oh amazing - thanks so much ladies! I was really nervous about booking but I prob won’t see my sis and niece again until next year so I really wanted to take my LO so we can spend some time together! I think I just have to bite the bullet! Would you suggest I take the stroller on the plane or just collect it at baggage? And how do you manage to push the buggy and suitcase?? Lol
I'd take one on the plane if you can, because you don't know how long you'll be waiting at baggage claim/passport control, it's always handy to have the stroller. As for pushing, it's the traditional one in each hand 😂 but you won't have to navigate both for a long time so you'll manage 😊😊 enjoy your trip!
We checked the pram at the gate - and then most airlines will bring it back to you again at the gate. We went with BA and it was all very quick. I just found it easier that way as my son could walk around and I used the pram to put the hand luggage and coats etc in so I didn’t have to carry it! I think it is probably comes down to how much you need the pram all the way to the plane. Unfortunately it is a case of one in each hand 🤦🏼♀️ highly recommend 4 wheel suitcase for ease of pushing both
Do it! I have to go solo a few places due to husbands work or I would never do anything!! Seems a lot for 2 nights - can you go for longer? Pack light and take a backpack so you have free hands!! You will he fine :)
