What to do with toddler when older sibling is at preachool?

I stay home with my 2.5 year old daughter while my son is at school in the mornings, and I'm already running out of things to do with her. He's only at preschool for two and a half hours, which feels like too much time to just sit at home but not really enough time for things like the zoo (which doesnt open until 10 anyway), so we end up walking around target or going to Starbucks and my wallet is suffering lol. Any ideas besides parks and the library?

Literally yesterday my son spent 2 hours walking around our apartment complex trying to catch squirrels lol

Cook with her. Make a cake. Read books, go for a walk, make a bread dough to make a pizza all together when bigger kid come back from school.

I mean you could set up activities at home like sensory bins, some simple arts and crafts (think threading big beads), if your LO likes to move around look for kiddie yoga that you can do together.

We go all sorts of places! Library storytimes, indoor play places, trampoline parks, playgroups/playdates, children’s museums, the mall, toddler classes through parks and rec and local family resource centers. When it’s nice weather, we do the zoo, try out lots of different parks, nature preserves, long walks in the neighborhood, farms, that sort of thing. Of course, there’s always running errands, going grocery shopping, cooking or baking, or cleaning. If you want to stay in, you can paint, do crafts, do water play, or set up an obstacle course.

The library should have baby bounce or storytime sessions. As for “parks” there’s 3 kinds here- normal, skate park and water park so on hot days I take my boy to the skate park or water park. I can walk around for a whole day and not buy anything except for lunch which sometimes I just buy a couple sushi rolls. Museums are great, mine has a yearly pass you can get (same as zoo). Try a park but one you haven’t tried before I tend to go “park hopping” trying new ones a bit out of the area. A nature walk? We see bunnies at our nature park, and there’s a river crossing sometimes we call a friend and just lay out a rug so the kids can play ball, have some music on speaker etc

@Taylor I found this place in your area! Looks similar to some of the classes I take my kids to 😊 https://moorheadcommunityed.ce.eleyo.com/courses/category/ecfe/88/early-childhood-family-education
