Here is an article from my fertility clinic about acupuncture: https://www.cnyfertility.com/acupuncture-for-fertility/ Wishing you lots of luck!!
Also to add, I had a successful FET in combination with the acupuncture :)
@Claire Thank you Claire! This is super helpful, I too am a massive aniexty ball of fluff, especially with my recent IVF experiences....😅 She's recommended a couple of sessions before and then 1 session 24hrs before my transfer, I was a little overwhelmed by all the information, She also includes tummy massaging and laser something to help flow, so that's different from what I've seen or looked up, She was very knowledgeable regarding my Gyne issues, and is used frequently with the fertility clinic I've chosen, Her success rates are amazing, I cant deny that! I'm open to trying outside the box, mindfulness on this journey is most definately important! And congratulations! How exciting for you! Thank you so much! X
Of course! I wish you the best of luck!! It sounds like you have found an excellent acupuncture provider. I can’t speak to her other modalities, but acupuncture for me truly was very helpful and there really is strong science behind it helping implantation! Now, is that necessarily what caused my success? I don’t know - but it definitely didn’t hurt and it absolutely put me in a headspace to feel more relaxed and open during the whole process
@Claire How many sessions did you do in total? I was told I had to do 1 session a week one month before FET and then 2 sessions on the week of FET.
I had acupuncture for both my FETs (non successful followed by successful) back in 2022. Some sessions I felt nothing at all but I kept going to my sessions, whether they helped or not I don’t know but I got my first ever BFP so I’ll take that as a win and fast forward.. LO is nearly 2!
@Fay I only did two sessions the day of my transfer! I travelled for my FET, so did the acupuncture offered through my clinic. In talking to others, I think what made my experience particularly helpful was doing the acupuncture with a weighted eye cover, essential oil, light music, and dimmed lights. Think massage experience but with little needles! Research shows benefits of acupuncture in the 3 months leading up to a retrieval and/or transfer to boost egg quality and implantation success!
Hi there!! There is actually scientific research on the benefits of acupuncture on ivf success rates :) not going to pull and share, but they are easy to find! I did two acupuncture sessions the day of my transfer - one just before and one just after. Make sure to work with someone who is a fertility specialist! My experience was mind blowing. It was SO relaxing and I felt a major shift in my body - it allowed me to ease all anxieties about the transfer process. My partner even said I looked a little high afterwards 😂 for my session, I was in a quiet room with music and essential oils and just focused on my breathing. I’ve never had a more meditative experience (coming from someone who typically has racing thoughts and is prone to anxiety) I highly highly recommend (and would in particular recommend sessions same day as your transfer!)
