@Sarah she has an assistant so they can have up to 8/12. She’s due in Friday as well would you just keep her off for rest of the week and send her back in on Monday ?
I don’t know if childminders are different but nurseries aren’t allowed to exclude children with hand foot and mouth so even if you keep her off this week, there could be cases for a couple of weeks if children keep picking it up
@Anna. Ow really okay 😬 she not 100% at the moment anyway she has cough and cold and I think that’s what I am worried about as if she got hand foot and mouth on top of that wouldn’t be good
My son had hand foot and mouth last week. Most of his class has had it recently. Only a few were off as they were a little poorly with it. It lasted about a week he had no other symptoms other than the blisters. You’re probably going to find it had to avoid unless you keep her away for a few weeks.
I can't believe parents are sending kids in with hfm!!! Id be fuming
@Mel s I have kept her off today as that was my worry ! my LG already has bad cough already so I wouldn’t want her to get anything else on top of that !
My daughter was off nursery 13 days with horrendous hand foot and mouth. Ended up in A&E because her mouth just wouldn't stop bleeding from ulcers. She caught if from nursery unfortunately as it was going around. So I'd say absolutely keep your kid home and try to minimise other children getting really poorly with it if you can help. Because some have it mild and some really struggle with it
As you are at home anyway, I would be tempted to keep her at home. Not sure how many kids your childminder has with her each day, but if 2 of them are off with HFM she won’t be missing out on too much socialising anyway.
