Banana poop

Hey! So my baby girl is 7.5 months, we’ve been weaning since she was 6 months but have only offered vegetables, toast, egg etc (no fruit). I gave her some banana today and she ate a little bit of it. In her nappy this evening she’s had small balls in her poop (pea sized) which are a weird colour but if you squeeze them they pop and have a yellowy/white kind of pus inside them, I wondered if this was the banana maybe and if anyone has seen anything similar?

No never seen this.. but the little balls would suggest she is constipated. Are you offering sips of water from a free flow cup? Try offering watermelon and cucumber both very water based .. why haven’t you given fruits?

I can't say I've seen this but the name of the game for babies is usually "if it's weird then it's probably normal." Our doctor said the only times to really be concerned is if they haven't pooped for 3 days, if the poop is red or if it's black. Otherwise, it's likely normal. I would also encourage a few sips of water or hydrating fruits like the previous commentor.

Banana poo is usually little black strings in the poo.

She was water every time she eats solids yes!

@Yasmin we hold off on giving fruits until she was slightly more established with vegetables so that there was no preference with the sweeter more sugary foods. The little balls were within the rest of her poop. Not a chance she’s constipated, she has a movement about 3 times a day and always has done.
