Gaviscon

So 🤦🏼‍♀️ we were on anti reflux milk for two weeks, baby boy seemed more settled, spitting up less on the most part, started pooping once a day but still unsettled sometimes. GP prescribed gaviscon and said stop the anti reflux milk. Well it's been nearly 48 hours of hell 😭 back to screaming all the time, stomach churning to the point we can hear the gurgles, not sleeping after feeds just screaming and unsettled. I've decided we are going back to the anti reflux milk and stopping gaviscon and normal milk...is this okay? Mum gut tells me it's the right thing to do!

Literally go with your own feeling. Our doctor wouldn't believe me about our little one being constantly sick and just said he was a sicky baby so I changed his formula to an anti reflux one. Completely changed him, slept better, ate more and started gaining weight. Little and often we gave bottles rather than following the formula as sometimes a 5/6 Oz bottle was too much for his stomach. The only thing that happened negatively was it made him constipated so we just added a little lactulose to his milk to keep him regular. Now he's weaning the actual food keeps him regular so we don't need it.

@Nicola thank you for responding! I've changed him back to the anti reflux, he's already so much better after only two bottles! Not screaming after feeds as he was with the normal milk and gaviscon! We've got a long way to go till weaning so we need to find the best answer for right now! I can't wait for weaning 😂

@Kayleigh does your little boy have loads of gas as well as reflux? We’ve had ours on comfort milk but been debating changing to reflux milk. Just wondered if it also helps with the gas?

@Lizzie yes he has a lot of gas! The anti reflux does seem to reduce his gas or at least makes it easier to pass! We never tried comfort milk so I don't have that to compare too
