Why are my health visitor visits so frequent?

I’ve been having the health visitor come over every week since birth (baby is 5 weeks and I’m on my 5th visit) is this possibly due to my past medical history?

Show your support

Wow! I’ve literally had one come to my house on day 10 and then I’ve been to the clinic once since then, and apparently now they don’t need to see him until he’s 9 months old. I would maybe ask them why they are coming so often as I don’t think that’s normal. Usually the health visitors aren’t anything to do with your health, only the babies (I could be wrong about that but that was my understanding). Unless it’s something genetic that could affect baby?

I believe they have different “plans”, which they assign depending on circumstances e.g. what kind of support you have at home or if there’s any other kinds of concerns. From what I’ve been told, it’s to make sure they offer the best support they can on an individual basis. Definitely ask if it’s bothering you!

I’ve only had one and me being a young mum I thought I’d have more lol x

Are you on a ‘family support plan’?

I've had three visits and due another start of Nov, Baby is 5 weeks. This is standard for Scotland x

@Karen I’m in Scotland maybe that’s why thanks xx

I've seen my HV once at home 14 days after baby was born and not heard from her since 😂
