Weaning causing constipation?

For those started weaning has it caused constipation, and if so how did you resolve the issue? Baby has been weaning for 3 days and usually poos daily, but he's not pooped for 4 days now and is randomly crying and grunting like the newborn days again. Think he is constipated. Has anyone experienced similar and if so how did you resolve the issue? I've tried making sure he drinks water with his solids, prune puree and pear puree. We do have lactulose which I will use if we need but that's in another location until tomorrow and really wanted to try and get him to poo ASAP.

Are you giving bananas? Usually they do get constipated on and off when weaning due to their bodies learning to digest solids and not just milk. Try lots of massages and warm baths to help it pass

@anon wahhh I used it all in the hospital waiting for my milk to come in 😭

@YazmynJade haven't tried banana yet I'd forgotten about that! We've done prunes, pears and kiwi. Extra breastmilk feeds and also drinks of water 😅 this didn't happen with our first so it's a shock!

@anon I had to bin about 60oz of frozen milk when we found out baby had a milk allergy. I was very sad 😅 so unfortunately any milk is from about 12 weeks old onwards once the dairy had gone. Will try orange juice if lactulose doesn't work tomorrow!

AHH was just wondering as even in small doses bananas constipate babies. It's normal and will pass it will happen a few times when weaning and when introducing more lumps of food etc. There's always the frida windi if things get too bad they work a charm just do it in the bath 😂😂

@YazmynJade kiwi seemed to work thankfully!!
