We are doing around a TBSP of purées per day. I usually measure the food before thinning with breastmilk. We do one ‘meal’ a day but the times vary as it depends on we he last ate/sleep schedule. As long as you aren’t feeding baby after they are showing signs of being full (closing mouth when trying to give food, turning head away, etc) and it’s not causing a decrease in milk intake you are fine. My boy has not been constipated at all but if yours is you can give prune, or pear puree to help

We do anywhere from 1-3 times a day. We’re doing baby led weaning so she very rarely gets more than a bite or 2 of what she’s given. Yesterday was just roasted sweet potato fries the day before was french toast sticks and corn and peas spread throughout the day. You absolutely can over feed on purées it’s best to nurse of give a bottle before food and treat the baby food as a “dessert”. For consumption we would give water with food and do things like applesauce or a prune purée for a couple days and lower the amount of oatmeal to get things back to normal

I’m doing around 2 meals a day baby led weaning with both purées and hand held food. I hand my son a loaded spoon and if he’s hungry he will eat it and when he’s done it’s pretty clear based on his cues. For constipation a few ounces of all natural apple juice can help.

I’m lucky if I get my daughter to eat a few bites of puree a day. She liked it at first but now she just isn’t interested and only wants her bottle. I’m trying hard though.

@Brittiany try when your ready for solids (strawberry peach mango banana) tbh some babies just don’t care for purées. Once they taste someeeething they love they will be all over food

@Hamdi I’ll try that. I’ve tried many things and I can get her to take a few bites, she acts like she likes it then she’s over it. She’s definitely not malnourished though so I’m just going to go at her pace. She’s 70th percentile for weight 😅

@Brittiany oh yeah food at this age (for anyone worried) is not for the calorie intake, really it’s just a time to start transition and check for allergens. As long as baby is fed they are good! A couple bites is fine as long as they don’t have a reaction 🫶🏾

@Hamdi thank you. 🩷
