I have a little boy but he loves things like Duplo, Brio etc. He also has a play kitchen and food that he likes, as well as a little wooden workbench. We’ve got a big set of plastic animals that he likes to make a zoo/farm with. All things that are great for imaginative play, he absolutely loves imaginative play and sometimes he plays independently giving me 5 minutes to enjoy a cup of tea or something!

Imaginary play? We play shops, doctors, dogs (don't ask 😳😆) tea party Kinetic sand Helping with chopping and preparing dinner Treasure hunt at home Puzzles

Very seasonal idea, but we carved our pumpkin tonight. Messy play? Make some cloud dough, play dough cheerio sand or moonsand. Get a set of child friendly kitchen knives (plastic and sharp but don’t cut fingers! They’re amazing) and get them to help you prep veg for dinner Go on a leaf hunt and make some monsters out of the leaves. Sticker books keep my daughter entertained Pva glue and chopped up coloured card. Let them stick to piece of paper Get a spray bottle and a cloth and get her to clean the windows Baking Build a den Build an obstacle course

@Lauren Thanks! We do do a lot of this stuff but the glue is a good shout! And the knifes because she’s always wanting to help when I’m doing dinner

We got a tuff tray recently and have been doing some messy play. First week I did all baking ingredients and gave him some spoons and bowls etc.. he played for almost 2 hours. Second week I did shaving foam and food colouring with ice cream cones.

Pots and pans orchestra? Set up your saucepans and frying pans with spoons and see if you can make a tune

Baking, playdoh is a massive hit, reading, playing kitchen, playing nursery, she loves a mud kitchen I also fill a tray with rice and make a scene, e.g. fossil dig, building site etc. She loves making sock puppets with all the odd socks

Playdoh and slime are current stay at home faves with my little boy. I also do little craft activities (loads of inspo online) it’s amazing what you can do with empty toilet rolls 😂 coming up to Christmas there’s so many different things you could do, including making cards.. Also do loads of role play games, like doctors, hairdressers and superheroes. X
