Baths

Heya mamas, what do you all do for after the bath? My baby girl loves the bath, just hates the changing, getting lotioned, and getting dressed afterwards. I keep a calm tone, put on calm music, and warm the changing table before putting her down. The only time she calms down is if there is a bottle in her mouth (she's lying flat, which I know is bad while eating) She's been this way since day one and now she's 3 months old. I would love to make this a relaxing experience for, but I don't know how to do that with her screaming and crying. Any advice is appreciated.

Skin to skin cuddles and look up baby massage. There are some specific ways you can do it such as a heart on the chest or pulling down their arms that help soothe baby.

Speed. My girl loves the bath but the second she is out she’s upset but once she’s dressed again and held she’s all good. My guess would be the shock of cold air vs warm water.

I cover my baby with a towel and dry her by sections starting with her feet working my way up with the hair dryer on low and Warm air instead of hot, it’s literally like white noise. It relaxes her.

Could she be cold? I remember hating baths as a child only because I didn’t like being cold when I got out. I use a space heater in the bathroom and change them in there when it’s cold.

My son was the same and nothing happened when I feed him flat I didn’t even know that was a thing he only ever ate flat and sleeping beside me while breastfeeding and bottle feeding lmao but I used to make funny noises while putting on his lotion and diaper after a bath and start feeding him as soon as I was finished for his bedtime

I turn the heat on in the house during bath time! Not to mention I take him to my bed and lay him in our bed to get dressed rather than a hard uncomfy changing table! )This gives you the option to prop her head up a bit with a pillow to make you feel more comfortable feeding if she’s propped up a bit more! ) my son is also obsessed with music and singing so normally we sing songs and keep the lights super low to keep in a calm setting!

I have two mini heaters that I turn on about 10-15 minutes before I start bath time. One in the bathroom and one in the nursery. Once I have my baby dressed again and laid down I turn them off. Seems to help her know it’s bedtime as well.

We have a towel warmer and use 3 towels so he can have a warm dry one when the others cool down and get wet. I have the space heater on in his room while we are bathing. Before all of this, bath time was a mess! Usually no tears now
