Sicky baby

Someone please help me I’m at wits end! My LO is 5 weeks old today. He is formula fed (Kendamil). Some days he is completely fine and isn’t sick at all. Other days he is sick all day. Sometimes he is sick after feeds and then for a couple of hours later if I pick him up or move him. He seems to wait to drink more when he is sick. Can this be silent reflux? I am completely clueless. He screams on the days when he is sick ( I would too ). He burps well when feeding, just at a loss. Please help this mama out! I feel helpless when he is screaming and sick. My 5 week old was the exact same on kendamil organic, he was really unsettled crying when awake & even worse after a feed with constant discomfort and projectile vomiting if we moved him! He is now being treated for suspected CMPA so now on prescribed milk (aptamil pepti 1) medication to control what they think is reflux & carobel to thicken his milk. Prior to this we tried everything from different milks to gaviscon, none really showed an improvement in him! It’s still early days but we are hoping new milk/reflux meds will do the trick! I do really feel your pain it’s so awful seeing them in pain & having to accept it’s not an overnight fix! I get so frustrated we can’t enjoy our newborn bubble but we are trying to stay positive. I’d visit the doctors & explain his symptoms hopefully they can give you some advice or something to help, they’ve been really good for us and both of you shouldn’t have to suffer!! X

@Lauren oh Thankyou! This is soo helpful! I hope your little boy is settling for you, it’s just awful seeing them in pain. My baby isn’t projectile vomitting, he just is sick after some feeds, it’s not all the time but I would say 65/70% of the time. There will be days where there isn’t any sick but the days where he is it’s awful for both him and us:( My gut instinct isn’t telling me he has an allergy to cows milk or anything but maybe just reflux? I’m in two minds about what to do. I might see how he gets on over the weekend and if no change then maybe ring doctors on Monday. Thankyou for your reply! It’s gratefully appreciated x

We have only been on the new milk 10 days and reflux meds/thickener since Tuesday so still really early to tell if working but they have told us we need to give 2/3weeks before we see any improvements! We are also having good/bad days in terms of feeding/sickness so I really feel your pain! I was the same and felt something wasn’t right with him, mother’s instinct is never wrong! I hope you get it all sorted it really is horrible for us/them xx
