@Georgie thank you! It's absolutely crazy that they go through. It breaks my heart hearing her cry and not being able to sooth her. I'm not BF either, and my milk has come in, so she's constantly rooting and sniffing around, which is obviously unsettling for her, too! My hubby mentioned a dummy tonight, but I think that's a last resort. Gosh, it's so tiring for us both! As you know! Good luck xx
We went through this and stood rocking our LG till she fell asleep. We tried putting her down with a blanket tucked in but she wasn't a fan so tried the swaddle sleep bags from tommee tippee and she settled straight away post feed. She's now 24 days old and settles in the bag quickly after a feed following some shushing and rocking. Maybe try one of the bags. I got ours on vinted as I refused to pay £20+ a bag. Re:dummy, I didn't want to use one but it settles her easily and I see it as easier to take away than her thumb if she started to suck it
@Sophie what dummy does she like?
@Georgie we're using MAM dummies as we're bottle feeding using MAM bottles so the teat is similar/if not the same. We like them as you can sterilise them in the microwave in the pot they come in with water. If you have an amazon baby wishlist, you get 15% off so we paid around £5/6 for 2 instead of £8+ the shops charge x
Sounds like the witching hour to me
We have the same with our 4 week old, this particular white noise really helps - https://youtu.be/JMK7UgZqGRs?si=-uztwiMUq8P5HfWy
@Sophie aww lovely! Thank you xx
Oh don’t panic you’re not on your own. My one week old cries constantly from 1am till about 4 or 5
Our witching hours are from 6pm to about 1am... Every night ... It's exhausting 😫
Yessss it's like a witching hour past 6/7,pm she is so hard to settle without basically constantly being on the boob... A dummy worked for us last week but she doesn't like it anymore. She sleeps all day but is up till 2/3am crying ... I know things move in phases so just keeping the faith and dealing with it. Rocking and a change of scenery help too
